Specialized Counseling for Athletes

My work with athletes is informed by both clinical training and lived experience. I spent over a decade in high-level competitive athletics and was a member of my country’s national team, competing internationally.

Growing up in an elite sport environment meant training demands that often came at the expense of a typical childhood and high school experience. I understand what it’s like to live under constant performance expectations, to feel different from peers, and to carry an identity shaped early by sport.

As a licensed professional counselor, I support athletes in navigating the mental and emotional impact of performance pressure, identity concerns, body image, injury, burnout, and major life transitions. This work focuses on supporting the whole athlete, not just performance.

I work with adolescent and adult athletes across competitive levels, including youth, high school, collegiate, and elite athletes. Many of the individuals I support are balancing the demands of high-performance environments alongside academics, relationships, injury recovery, or transitions within or out of sport.

Having lived within elite athletic systems, I understand the culture, expectations, and unspoken pressures athletes face. I recognize the emotional cost of early specialization, constant evaluation, and carrying adult-level responsibility at a young age. This shared understanding often allows athletes to feel seen more quickly and speak openly about experiences they may have struggled to articulate elsewhere.

In select circumstances, and due to the demands of rigorous training schedules, sessions may be offered in alternative locations when clinically appropriate. Please reach out for more information regarding availability.
