Welcome, I am Beverly Wooden

LPC-Associate and LCDC-I
Supervised by Gregory Sparrow, LPC-S

Beverly is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-Associate) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern (LCDC-I) in Texas.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas Christian University and her master’s degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Addiction Counseling from Texas Tech University.

In 2024, Beverly was selected by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) as a Minority Fellowship Scholar, recognizing her commitment to advancing mental health care and promoting equity in underserved communities.

Beverly has experience working in both nonprofit and private practice settings, providing individual counseling and facilitating counseling groups. She has worked extensively with children, teens and adults navigating anxiety, life transitions, body image struggles, and the often overwhelming emotions that come with growing, changing, and finding your place in the world.

Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, compassionate, and flexible, grounded in the belief that no single approach fits every person. Beverly draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Existential approaches, integrating these methods based on each client’s unique goals and experiences. She is also trained in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care, emphasizing the importance of safety, connection, and holistic well-being in the healing process. Her style is warm, curious, and relational; meeting clients where they are and walking alongside them as they rediscover balance, resilience, and self-trust.

Beverly is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC).

Outside the counseling room, Beverly enjoys Pilates, traveling, and spending time with her two Mini Schnauzers, who remind her daily of the value of play and presence.
